Creating a lead from the map

Turn a good door into a lead or an appointment straight from the house's card, and see how every lead gets its own pin on the map.

When a door goes well, you don't need to retype the address anywhere. Log it from the map and SolarKnock creates the lead for you.

Turn a door into a lead

  1. On the Map, tap the house.
  2. On the Knock Pin tab, tap CL (Closer), LD (Lead) or CB (Follow-up).
  3. SolarKnock saves the knock and creates a lead for this address with the status New, named after the owner on file when there is one.
  4. Add a Knock Note... if you like.

If the house already has a lead, the knock is added to that lead instead of creating a second one.

Who can do this: everyone.

Add details or book an appointment

  1. Next to the note box, tap Schedule. The lead opens.
  2. On Lead Details, fill in what you have, such as name, phone and email.
  3. To book an appointment, open the Appointments tab, tap Add Appointment, and choose the Type (Closing, Follow Up or Lead), the Closer, the date and the time.
  4. Tap Save.

A new appointment has to be at least 22 minutes in the future. For more, see Working with leads and Booking appointments.

Once a house has a lead, a blue calendar icon appears at the top of its card, next to a badge with the lead's status, such as New or Won. Tap the calendar icon to open the lead at any time.

Tip: On the card's Estimate tab, Photo of bill attaches a photo of the homeowner's utility bill to the lead. If the house has no lead yet, one is created for it. See Solar estimates.

Every lead has a pin

Leads you add in other ways, such as with + on the Leads tab, show on the map too, as a blue pin at the lead's address. If someone on your team has already knocked that house, the lead uses the existing pin instead.

A lead's pin only marks where the lead is. It isn't a door knock, so it never adds to your knocks or conversations. In the house's History tab it reads Lead added.

If SolarKnock can't place a lead's address on the map, that lead has no pin.

Won, lost and canceled

When a lead is closed out, the house gets a slightly larger marker on top of its pin:

Lead statusMarker
WonGold with a check
LostRed with an X
Canceled (a sale that fell through)Gray with an X

Tap the marker to open the house and its lead. These markers let your whole team see which homes are already sold. If your company uses SitePilot, see SitePilot sold-deal sync.
