SolarKnock is a web and mobile application for door-to-door solar sales teams, operated by Fable Software LLC of Draper, Utah ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what we collect when you use SolarKnock at app.solarknock.com and our website at solarknock.com, how we use it, who can see it, and your choices.
Account information: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text. If you connect a Google account, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
Mobile phone number: the number you give us if you choose to receive text messages (Section 6).
Location data: with your permission, your device's location while you use the map, and while an AutoKnock session you started is running (a location reading about every 20 seconds). We store the coordinates of knocks you log so your team can see which doors were worked. You can turn location access off in your device settings.
Activity data: knocks, leads, appointments, notes, territories and the other records you and your team create, used for scheduling, statistics and the leaderboard within your organization.
AutoKnock recordings: if you start an AutoKnock session, the app records audio of your conversations at the door, which may include the voices of the people you speak with, and turns it into transcripts and proposed records for you to review. See Section 5.
Google Calendar data: only if you connect Google Calendar. See Section 4.
Property data: publicly available county parcel records (addresses, owner names, assessed values) that power the address map and solar estimates.
Payment information: if your organization pays for SolarKnock, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
Website and app analytics: how pages are used (pages viewed, clicks, device and browser type), collected through the analytics tools listed in Section 9.
Each organization's data is kept separate. Nobody outside your organization can see your knocks, leads, appointments, recordings or statistics, and data never moves between organizations.
SolarKnock staff do not access customer data except to provide support you ask for, to investigate security or abuse, or where the law requires it.
SolarKnock's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you connect Google Calendar from your Profile, SolarKnock requests the calendar.events scope. It is the minimum scope needed to put SolarKnock appointments on your Google Calendar and keep them in sync; we do not request the full calendar scope or any broader Google Workspace scope. With it, SolarKnock:
SolarKnock never reads the content of, modifies or deletes events it did not create. Your Google refresh token is stored encrypted and used only to keep this connection working. We use Google Calendar data solely to schedule, display and synchronize SolarKnock appointments, and never for advertising, profiling, market research or training machine-learning models. We do not sell, share or transfer Google user data to third parties, and we do not allow people to read it except to provide support you ask for, to investigate security or abuse, or to comply with the law.
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Profile, which revokes our access immediately, or remove SolarKnock at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
AutoKnock records only after you tap Start AutoKnock, and stops when you stop it. While it records, the screen shows a recording notice. Recording laws differ from state to state, and some require the agreement of everyone recorded; reps should follow their company's policy and the rules where they work.
What we send. SolarKnock (Fable Software LLC) texts SolarKnock users who opt in. The program is SolarKnock daily check-ins:
Message frequency: up to 2 messages per day.
Opting in is voluntary. When you create your account at app.solarknock.com (with an invite code from your employer, or through the free beta signup at app.solarknock.com/join-beta), you can enter your mobile number and tick an optional checkbox. The box is unchecked by default, and you can create your account and use SolarKnock without ticking it. The checkbox reads:
"Text me SolarKnock daily check-ins (optional). By checking this box you agree to receive recurring automated texts from SolarKnock (Fable Software LLC) asking for your daily knocking numbers and confirming your replies, up to 2 msgs/day. Consent is not required to use SolarKnock. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
We record the time you opt in, and we text only people who have opted in.
Opting out: reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT) to any message. You will get one confirmation and no further texts. Reply START to resubscribe. You can also email support@solarknock.com.
Help: reply HELP to any message, or email support@solarknock.com.
Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details.
Carriers: supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and other major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Delivery: texts are delivered through our messaging provider, Telnyx, which receives your number and the message text only to deliver them.
No sharing of mobile information. No mobile information (including phone numbers and SMS opt-in data) will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other data-sharing exclusions in this policy specifically exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, share or use phone numbers or SMS opt-in data for any purpose other than delivering the messages described here.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers that run SolarKnock for us, each limited to its job:
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
SolarKnock uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. Our website and app also use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel. These set cookies and record how pages are used, so we can understand and improve SolarKnock and measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the app still works without analytics cookies.
SolarKnock is for professional sales teams and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. When we make significant changes, we will tell active users in the app or by email and update the date above.
